Environmental Management System ISO 14001
International regulations related to environmental protection are getting tighter
and tighter year by year. It happens
quite often that a customer is willing to buy a product only if the information
that is an environmentally friendly product is attached to it. ISO 14001 is the first international standard
regarding Environmental Management Systems.
The norm is compiled in such a way that it can be implemented by every organization.
It is a set of requirement on the basis
of which company policy and objectives can be determined taking into account
the legal regulations and environmental protection issues. In other words, it
is related to those areas of an organization's activity, its products and
services, which may to a significant extent affect the environment, but which
at the same time can be controlled by it.

Occupational
Health and Safety Management System PN-N 18001
Contrary to the
traditional one, a more systematic approach of an organization to the issues of
occupational health and safety is far more beneficial. A system based on PN-N 18001:2004 standard
helps to identify and assess occupational risks and improve occupational health
and safety conditions. The main function of the system is to identify risks,
including potential risks and to prevent the occurrence of negative incidents. The value added of the systematic approach to
occupational health and safety management is preventing incidents, minimizing
the negative consequences of such incidents, but also minimizing occupational
risks and occupational disease occurrence. Limiting the number of incidents can lead to
the reduction of costs related to occupational health and safety and also quite
often related to production losses. Following the standard and implementing it
is not obligatory. However, organizations which implement the standard gain the
benefit of lower insurance rates.

discrepancies

system requirements

of laboratory operation place a number of requirements on laboratories as far
as their operations and the research they carry out are concerned. One of
such requirements is accreditation against the PN-EN ISO/IEC 17025:2001

places requirements on proper management and technical competence related to
the kind of research/calibration carried out by the laboratory.
